Trade Membership Benefits

  • How does the grant application process work?

    The grant process requires information to show

    • the customer is eligible for a grant;
    • which grant they are eligible for

    ECVIA provides a grant portal which enables either the customer or installer to create documentation suitable for grant applications.

    The information provided for or on behalf of the customer and supplier is supplemented with documentation and required paperwork and is reproduced in the required format for the grant application to be legally submitted.

    On completion the installer can submit the application using the government’s required process.

  • What are ECVIA Bonus Work Allocations?

    ECVIA Bonus Work Allocations begin when the ECVIA member’s free allocations are filled.

    Bonus Work Allocations are additional installation jobs and work orders allotted by EVCIA over and above the free allocation.

    EVCIA actively seeks jobs for its installer members and incurs costs in doing so:

    • we advertise under relevant terms under search engines and social media;
    • we employ staff who actively reach out to and recruit decision makers;
    • we run  the UK’s most successful EV installation successful affiliate scheme

    All these activities generate additional costs. We fund these additional costs by generating a commission on the work we generate.

  • How does EVCIA allocate work to its installers?

    Every contractor gets a free allocation of work orders based on their membership:

    • A single installer gets up to three jobs a year with their membership without additional payment;
    • A company installer gets up to six jobs a year with their membership without additional payment;
    • A multisite installer gets up to nine jobs a year with their membership without additional payment;

    Jobs are currently sent through to installers via email. We are in the process of building a user dashboard for work allocation with an expected implementation by 05/2023.

    How We Allocate

    1. Work is allocated predominantly by postcode. Installers can choose the postcodes where they are willing to work. Accepted postcodes may include the full postcode (eg BH, SN or LL) or areas within the postcode (eg BH5, SN3 or LL50).
    2. We fill free allocations first. Once free allocations are full, we allocate Bonus Allocations.
    3. We encourage all members to accept all jobs we offer where possible so they can quickly profit from more work by moving through to accepting Bonus Allocations.
    4. However we recognise people and companies can have commitments or other complications which mean they must refuse jobs. To counter “job-picking” each “refused” job counts as 0.5 of an “accepted” job against their free quota.
